For some learners, playing an instrument is a fun outlet, an exciting hobby, or a therapeutic activity. It is a creative discipline that one engages with on a regular to semi-regular basis. Either way, learning an instrument is a powerful means of self-expression. We have always been open to the possibility that some students take guitar lessons because they aspire to become professional musicians someday. We are  proud to have several students who are currently making the rounds in the independent music scene as solo artists or band members. Some of our young guitar heroes are now music majors.

We acknowledge the diversity of our learners. Regardless of the reason why the student picked up the guitar– dreams of being in a band, entering music school, or the intent to simply have a productive hobby and play at leisure– learning an instrument will keep one’s creative juices flowing. The guitar is an instrument one can easily bring along as a constant companion. It has after all, endured a long history of becoming the most versatile instrument. It still is.

While serious guitar students need serious formal training, the Animaguitara experience instills that there’s no reason why learning should not also be an enjoyable experience. We believe that regardless of the learner’s original intentions, the more we practice and play, the more fulfilling it becomes.
